Why Tunnexa says No Internet Connection, and how to fix it
"No Internet Connection" means Tunnexa couldn't reach the internet at all, before the VPN even starts. Almost always it's the phone's connection, not the VPN. Check Wi-Fi or mobile data, then tap Retry.
Usually fixed in a minute
No reinstall needed
When Tunnexa opens, it contacts our servers to fetch the list of locations. If it can’t get through and has no saved list to fall back on, it shows a card titled No Internet Connection: “Please check your internet connection and try again.” with Cancel and Retry.
What the message means
Tunnexa hasn’t tried to connect the VPN yet. It’s telling you the phone can’t reach the internet right now, so there’s nothing for a VPN to tunnel through. A VPN can’t fix a missing connection; it needs a working one underneath.
Quick checks
- Pull down the quick settings and make sure airplane mode is off.
- Check that Wi-Fi is connected, or that mobile data is on and you have signal.
- Open a website in your browser. If it doesn’t load either, the problem is the network, not Tunnexa.
- Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data to see if one works.
- Back in Tunnexa, tap Retry.
When the browser works but Tunnexa doesn’t
A Wi-Fi login page
Hotel, airport, café and campus Wi-Fi often wants you to accept terms or enter a room number first. Until you do, apps can’t get online. Open your browser, finish the login page, then tap Retry.
Another VPN app is blocking traffic
If a different VPN app is set as Always-on with Block connections without VPN, and it isn’t connected, Android blocks every other app, Tunnexa included. Read how to move Always-on VPN to Tunnexa.
Data is restricted for Tunnexa
Android can stop single apps from using mobile data or background data. Open your phone’s Settings › Apps › Tunnexa VPN and check its mobile data and Wi-Fi options. Data Saver can have the same effect.
The network blocks it
Some school, work and public networks block services they don’t recognize. Try mobile data to confirm. If that works, the Wi-Fi is the problem, and the network owner’s rules apply.
Similar messages
- “Internet is Unavailable” is a short red banner when your phone loses its connection. A green “Internet Available” follows when it’s back.
- “Network Error” in the server list means the list couldn’t refresh. Tap Retry once you’re online.
- “The connection to the server was lost. Please reconnect.” is different: you were online, but the VPN server stopped answering. Connect again, or try another location using the four connection fixes.
Still stuck?
Restart the phone, then open Tunnexa again. If the message keeps coming back while other apps work, email support@tunnexa.com with your phone model, Android version and whether you were on Wi-Fi or mobile data. Once you’re online, you can also send feedback from the app.

Does "No Internet Connection" mean Tunnexa's servers are down?
Almost never. It appears when Tunnexa can't reach the internet at all. If your browser can't load a page either, the phone's connection is the problem.
Why does Tunnexa say No Internet Connection on hotel Wi-Fi?
Hotel Wi-Fi usually needs you to sign in on a login page first. Open your browser, finish that page, then tap Retry in Tunnexa.
Can a VPN fix my internet connection?
No. A VPN sends your traffic through an encrypted tunnel, but it needs a working connection underneath. Fix Wi-Fi or mobile data first, then connect.
