Our no-logs VPN policy, in plain words

Tunnexa is a no-logs VPN. We don't store your browsing history, your connection history, the sites you reach, what you send, your DNS lookups or how much data you use. The app still needs a few details to work, and this page lists every one of them, with the reason.

Never stored, and stored for a reason

If something isn't in the right-hand column, we don't keep it. Each item says why it exists.

Never stored

Everyone

Browsing historyThe websites and apps you open while connected. Nobody at Tunnexa can look them up later, because they're never written down.Connection historyNo log of your sessions: not when each one started, not how long it lasted. The only connection detail kept is your device's current state, on the right, and each update wipes out the one before.Traffic destinationsThe IP addresses and domain names your traffic goes to.Traffic contentWhat you send and receive: pages, messages, photos, files and video.DNS queriesThe names your phone looks up before it loads anything, like example.com. With DNS leak protection on, they travel inside the tunnel, and we don't log them there either.Bandwidth tied to youHow much data you use isn't counted against your device or your account.Never even asked forYour name, your phone number, your contacts, or Android's location permission. The app doesn't request any of them, so there's nothing to store.

Stored, and why

Every install, signed in or notApp ID and app tokenAndroid gives the app an ID on your phone, and our server gives it a random token. The app uses the pair to ask for servers and VPN settings.First registration detailsThe IP address and the app's technical user-agent string from the first time it checked in. Inside the app

What the app's Google services see

Tunnexa uses four Firebase tools from Google to keep the app working. They run inside the app, outside your tunnel.

Firebase

Analytics

Which screens and features get used, the server the app picks for you at start-up, your phone model, Android version and rough location.

Firebase

Crashlytics

Crash reports: what the app was doing when it failed, plus your phone model and Android version, so we can fix it.

Firebase

Performance Monitoring

How long the app takes to start, and how long its own requests to our servers take.

Firebase

Cloud Messaging

A token that lets us send notifications to the app, if you allow them.

None of them see your traffic. They don't get the sites you visit, what you send or your DNS lookups. Google and Apple sign-in only tell us your email, and once Premium launches, Google Play handles payment.

How long

How long we keep what we keep

Short where we can make it short. Where a period isn't fixed yet, we say so instead of guessing.

How long Tunnexa keeps each item it stores
What we keep How long
Current connection state Each connect or stop report overwrites the previous one. There's never more than one. Replaced every time
A device on your account Remove it under Account › Connected Devices and it's signed out and unlinked from your account at once. Until you remove it
Your account Deleting it signs out and unlinks every device and closes the account. A closed record is kept for billing and legal records for [retention period]. Until you delete it
App ID, token, registration details and VPN keys Kept while the app is in use. Uninstalling stops the app from checking in. [retention period]
Feedback emails Kept in our support inbox so we can follow up on what you reported. [retention period]
Firebase data Analytics and crash reports are kept by Google for the period set in our Firebase settings. [retention period]

You're in charge of the biggest piece. Delete your account any time in the app: open Settings, tap your account at the top, then Delete account.

The legal version

This page is the short form of our Privacy Policy

The Tunnexa Privacy Policy covers the same data in full, with legal bases, your rights and who we share with. If the two ever disagree, the policy is the one that counts, and we'll fix this page. Curious who's behind all this? Read about Tunnexa.

FAQ

No-logs questions

Something here unclear? Contact the Tunnexa team and we'll explain it, or fix the page.

What does a no-logs VPN mean?

A no-logs VPN doesn't record what you do while you're connected: the sites you visit, what you send, your DNS lookups or a history of your sessions. It still needs a little data to run, like your email if you sign in. A good policy lists that data plainly, item by item.

Does Tunnexa keep logs?

No activity logs and no connection history. For each device, the server keeps only its latest connect and stop time and protocol, replaced by every new report, to apply the connection limit. If you sign in, your account also keeps your email, your devices and your plan.

Can Tunnexa see what I do online?

Your traffic passes through our servers on its way to the internet, so it has to be handled there, but we don't record it. Most sites and apps also use HTTPS, which keeps the content encrypted all the way to them.

Does a no-logs VPN make me anonymous?

No. A VPN hides your IP address from the sites you visit and your traffic from the local network. If you sign in to a site, it still knows it's you, and apps can recognize your phone in other ways.

What happens to my data when I delete my account?

Every device is signed out and unlinked straight away, and the account is closed. A closed record is kept for billing and legal records for [retention period].
